K-pop supergroup BTS will head to the United States this month to start working on new music and will launch its next album early next year, ahead of a world tour, it said on Tuesday.

The seven members of the group, who have been reunited after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service, announced during a livestream on Weverse, a superfan platform owned by HYBE, an entertainment firm that manages BTS.

“Hey guys, we are back,” BTS member Jimin said in the 30-minute livestream. HYBE stated that the video attracted more than 7.3 million real-time views and that the world tour would be BTS’s first in approximately four years.

The upcoming album, which BTS will produce in the United States and other countries, will be the band’s first full-length album since 2020, BTS leader RM said.

BTS’ Proof (2022) was an anthology album — a type of full-length album. The 3-disc project comprised several of the band’s singles through the years, including a selection of discography “favourites” chosen by the band members, and various demos and previously unreleased tracks.

It also included five new songs, the album’s lead single ‘Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)’, ‘Run BTS’, ‘For Youth’, ‘Quotation Mark’, and ‘애매한 사이 (Young Love)’.

The band made its debut on June 13, 2013, and spearheaded a global K-pop craze with lyrics and social campaigns aimed at empowering youngsters. The group’s members put their global music career on hold in 2022 to begin military service.

We Need mandatory military service for our own young Pakistani men, we need the army to teach them how to defend their families and some real discipline & independence, as most of them are very much lacking in basic life skills

A super famous group is not the same as a supergroup. A supergroup is a group made up of people who are primarily known for being in other groups. For example, Audioslave.

Again, Pakistan can learn a lot from South Koreans. We should have mandatory military conscription for all Pakistani males over age of 18 for a minimum of 1 year. No exemption on account of being the only son, rich, elite, religious students, sons of mullahs etc. Maybe then the coddled, pampered tik tok generation of mummys boys will finally grow up, appreciate struggle, become real men and know the true mening of honor, masculinity, patriotism, serving and protecting your country and finally the umbilical cord can be severed.
